Energy First Planning
You showed up on your coaching call the other day and I could see it in your face.
You were tired and tense, your face covered in stress.
"You haven’t been energy-first planning this week have you?" I asked gently.
You shook your head.
You know how good it feels but life got away from you – work, kids, a big admin list.
We talked through what to do next:
You put your morning workouts back into the calendar
You remembered how easy it is to prep grab-and-go lunches while packing the kids’ lunchboxes, so that went in too.
You’d slipped back into a few wines in the evenings, but wanted better.
So we added a 5-minute evening ritual – a quick journal of your wins for the day, and laying out your clothes for tomorrow.
By the end of the call, the colour was back in your cheeks. Your eyes had softened and even started to sparkle.
And you hadn’t even done these things yet!
Just having the plan shifted your energy.
The funny part about energy-first planning is it does take a little energy to set up, but once it’s in place, you’ll feel like a new person.
Instead of cramming your to-do list into your day (and leaving you out of it)... What if you flipped it?
What if you went into the calendar first, and everything else worked around you?
