Patriarchy Got Us Here, But We Don’t Have To Stay Here

Society, patriarchy, family role models… yes, they all led to how we now show up as women.

Always putting others first. Always trying to “do it all.”

But here’s the good news:

You can get out of it and that part is in your control.

You have a busy life, yes.

But you are choosing it.

You may need a job, but you choose where you work.

You may need to cook, but you choose how you do it (even if that’s toast or Happy Meals some nights).

Put on some new glasses this week.

✨ “I chose this job – what’s in my control about it? What do I want to change?”

(This question got me a high-paid job working 20 hours a week after V was born.)

✨ “I choose to cook tonight – how can I enjoy it? What do I want to eat? What would make it easier?”

(This one stopped the nightly fights over food with V.)

Because when we back our daily choices, we stop fighting ourselves.

Don't stay small and weak and tired.

That will be the biggest middle finger to patriarchy ever.
